Resources

Pull Up Therapy is a space intended to provide others with the help and resources I wish I had early on in my relationship. Below are some excellent resources to help you on your own journey through readings, support groups, and podcasts.

Leslie Vernick

Leslie Vernick is a Christian therapist and author who specializes in emotionally destructive relationships. She has written books like “The Emotionally Destructive Marriage” and runs an incredible support group for women called Conquer. Her goal is to help women stay well in their marriages or to leave well.

Lysa Terkheurst

Lysa Terkheurst is a Christian author who has made it her mission to bring the importance of Scripture and personal healing to thousands of women. She has done this through sharing her own story, through her Therapy and Theology podcast, and her Proverbs31 ministry. I especially recommend her book “Good Boundaries and Goodbyes”.

DivorceCare

DivorceCare is a Christian recovery group for those who are divorced or separated. It goes over Biblical teachings with advice from trained professionals and testimonials from others who have gone through this.  It offers virtual and in-person options to help you navigate this difficult season.

Book recommendations:

Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend

The Emotionally Destructive Marriage by Leslie Vernick

Good Boundaries and Goodbyes by Lysa Terkheurst

Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents by Lindsay C. Gibson

The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel Van Der Kolk

I’m the Pull Up Therapist

Follow me on my journey as I navigate life out of an abusive marriage. This will be an honest look from the perspective of a Christ-following marriage and family therapist. This is a safe corner for those who have been wondering if they are ok in their marriage and perhaps needing courage to rise again.

Rise Again.

No matter what you've been through, there is hope to pull up and rise again.
"He pulled me out of a horrible pit,
out of the mud and clay.
He set my feet on a rock
and made my steps secure."
Psalm 40:2
